AMD vs. Intel

I've heard that AMD processors are not very good. Also, I have one laptop with an AMD and one laptop with an Intel. I have found that the Intel processor works much better. Should I stay away from AMD?

Intel currently dominates the high-end market, but AMD still offers decent performance for low, mid, and mid-high end markets. As for AMD laptop CPUs, even AMD themselves have admitted that they suck, but you pay accordingly.

AMD is also good, but intel has more performance and better overclocking capabilities. I heard AMD is planning something big and might even out do the intel but this is what I read in CPU Magazine, AMD has come up with new technology that intel doesn't know about yet. We might see AMD go out on top in the future maybe 6 months to 1 year. We already saw ATI come out with the 4870x2 that is outrunning the gtx280 so its just amount of time before AMD gets back in the ball game.

They are both good in their own respects. As far as quality goes, they are both the same. As far as speed, it is all up to how much you want to spend. Intel currently do have faster processors available. But that statement that you made about how you have an amd and how the amd one is lacking is not because it is an AMD. It just has to do with what processor you have, and most likely the reason it doesnt to as well is not because of the processor but because of what's running on your computer (junk programs).
