AMD vs Intel

I know that AMD is better for gaming than Intel (overall) but I was wondering how much? Because i don't think I have heard of an AMD processor that's higher than like 2.6ghz. but pentium like 3.6 or 3.8

so is a 2.0ghz AMD equal to say a 3.0ghz intel as far as games go?

(without overclocking)
 
there isnt really a ratio, but AMD is able to perform better at lower clock speeds then intel, and in terms of gaming, a rough estimate is to go buy the model number. such as an AMD 3500+ is equivilant to an Intel 3.5Ghz.
