AMD vs. Pentium speed

hey man if you dont want to get dual core get the amd4000+ and over clock that badboy
and you will have an amd fx-53 with a locked multiplier, and trust me both cpus are good for everything...and to simply put it The numbers used by AMD show what it opporates equal to (i mean the 4000 is roughly equal to 4.0intel(and there is no such thing as a 4.0intel)

10Ghz, when was that planned for, the world record for a stable overclock was 5.25Ghz, i would have thought that 10Ghz was still years away.

the pentium 4 architecture was planned to reach 10 ghz from the start. but when it got to 3.8 they realized too much heat was being generated and wasnt able to.

1. He said CeleronD. Not Celeron. Big distinction
2. Odds are its not the CPU thats bottlenecking gameplay but rather the VC (hence CeleronDs get a bad rap because people who buy CeleronDs dont often buy mid/high end VCs and thus dont get gaming performance)

Same video card, and for me it wasn'g just gaming everything sucked, starting my computer sucks, firefox sucks, gaming sucks, any photoediting(mainly paint sucks. Everythign is just slow and chopy. I put my AMD duron 1200Mhz back in, but then i needed cash and found people to buy the AMD but not the celeron so i just sold it, and now i OCed(you could call it) it to 3.6 Ghjz and a FSB of 200Mhz, by changing the jumpers and figurted when it died i'll get a new one, since its not like im using the greatest cooling, but it make it so not everything is all choppy, and i can start and run firefox perfectly again lol.

I used to hate INTELS because of my horrid experaince with this Celeron D, but I tryed out a friend P4 and that works pretty good.

Edit:sorry fotr the de-rail.....

If you can afford if the a AMD X2 does make sence(what P said). If not i'd just get a AMD64 becuase it sounds like your not going to be do alot of photoediting and major stuff. Although i could be wrong.
