I think this whole "Intel vs AMD" war is kind of silly to be honest, they're both good at doing different things for different people. So yes, AMD does not have the fastest CPU out there at the moment, but if you're on a budget build, AMD is a good way to go, however with the release of the FX chips I'd still steer more towards Intel, but that doesn't mean to say that AMDs are "bad" or "slow" or "run hotter than Intel".
