AMD X2 vs P4

Im wondering what would be better, an AMD X2 3800+ or a Pentium 4 3Ghz. I will be doing alot of video editing using Premiere Pro and other various programs, but i also do lots of gaming. I currently have a sempron and i cant do any video editing with that, so would the AMD X2 work well or would the P4 still outperform it greatly at video editing?

Definitely the X2. It will last you much longer than the P4 3 Ghz that is already kinda outdated, contrarily to the X2 which is brand new and has different technical characteristics.
