Turion is only used on laptops/notebooks. Athlon X2 processors are for desktops. Performance depends on what model you get. Athlon X2's are pretty cheap for the performance they offer.
athlon definitley. do they make notebooks with athlon processors? when i was looking for a laptop, all the amd powered ones had turion in them.
The Turion will give you better battery life and less heat.

I was going to say, lol.We just got a Compaq laptop with an Athlon X2 for my grandparents. Over-all the performance is ok, but not at par with what I expected... My desktop and even my laptop feel much faster, but they also both are running XP...

I believe the Dell 1501 uses a SATA hard drive.
Laptops don't use the same hard drives as desktops, you need a 2.5" drive. I don't believe they sell 320GB 7200RPM drives, only 320GB 5400RPM drives.Right about the sata. but would you know up to what hdd it will take? like 320 gb? what i'd like to do is buy a 7200 rpm and what ever the largest hadd i can put in and work.
