AMD's Athlon v. Turion

Turion is only used on laptops/notebooks. Athlon X2 processors are for desktops. Performance depends on what model you get. Athlon X2's are pretty cheap for the performance they offer.

Well, I am looking in notebooks. I would like to know which has better performance, Athlon or Turion? I've seen alot of Turion in the ads for notebooks. I just want to know which notebook I should be looking for. I know what I want, but not in the processor.

athlon definitley. do they make notebooks with athlon processors? when i was looking for a laptop, all the amd powered ones had turion in them.

Thank you.

Thank you. I have gone with the Dell 1501 from the Dell web site. I got it for $546 out the door.

It is the:
~Dell™ Inspiron™ 1501~

AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-56 (1.8GHz)
Memory 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz (2 DIMMs)
Operating System Genuine Windows XP Home
Hard Disk Drive 80 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)

We just got a Compaq laptop with an Athlon X2 for my grandparents. Over-all the performance is ok, but not at par with what I expected... My desktop and even my laptop feel much faster, but they also both are running XP...
