Annoying flicker

My monitor sometimes flickers and it gives me headaches. It did not flicker with my old computer. My monitor is a Samsung 19" LE19R71B (1440 x 900, 75 Hz). It is a TV/PC monitor. Video card is Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 Dual slot fansink. Video card only has DVI output, i use an adaptor and a VGA cable. It does not flicker with my other 17" pc monitor (1280 x 1024, 60 Hz). Any suggestions?
 
I assume that these are both LCD screens (I know 19" is). The normal refresh rate for them is 60Hz. You may first want to set your 19" display to 1440x900@60Hz to see if the problem disappears. The 75Hz refresh on the larger 19" is most likely not supported.
 
I removed all cables and connected them again, and the problem was gone. There were still some flicker in games, but it was because of the video settings. I changed them and the flicker was gone!

Just curious... What settings did you change in the games?
