hi there, im new to this forum malarchi, but it seems like this one lets you complain about computers and people are kind enough to help you
my problem is that on my new off-ebay compaq evo N1020v whenever i run a fullscreen application, after a few minutes the laptop resets itsself, its extremely annoying at times. it doesnt happen when im just generally using the pc. it just hates games
i have tried several BIOS settings and adjustments, updating video drivers (latest one was 2004 :S if anyone can find a more up to date driver for an ATI 340M im all ears) i have even tried all the GPU settings... still the same.
HELLLPPP!
an up to date driver list for this laptop would also be amazing as the one on the compaq site cant possibly be the most up to date...
its a:
P4 2GHZ
256ddr (-64 for shared graphics)
30gb hdd
XP Pro SP2
any help and advice would be awesome because this problem is beginning to annoy me a little when i want to kill some people on project IGI after a day of teaching screaming kids to snowboard
i have a fairly good pc knowledge so dont be afraid to be complicated as i built my own pc when i was 13 (i know its not rocket science, but hey)
cheers in advance.
