annoying power supply

i was checking out which of my fans were making the most noise which was very noticeable. so i tried unplugging each fan one by one and i found out that my power supply was making the most noise. so i was wondering if anyone could find me a silent power supply thats 500 watts and under 60 bucks. thanks XD

It's very hard to come across an absolutely silent power supply, I believe there are only a handful fanless ones. $60 isn't really going to get you far in terms of a quality unit, especially if you want a REALLY quiet one. Take a look at Seasonic PSUs, as they are well known for being very quiet.

Are you seriously going to buy a new power supply just because the $3 fan in it is too loud? If you're thinking about replacing it entirely anyway, why not just replace the fan? All it does is void your warranty, which you seem to not be too concerned with.

Put an 80mm Nexus fan in there and control it externally.

Spend the extra cash and get a Corsair 520W HX PSU. Modular, very stable, and SOOOO Quiet.

Never skimp on the PSU.
