Annoying Problem

Something is slowing my computer. All of my programs and games aren't working properly. For Example when i double click one of my shortcuts(program) at the desktop it'll take about 1 minute for it to start that program. And when i'm playing something every after 5 mins it throws me back to desktop and minimizes the game to the system tray. And I can hear clicking sound like when you go to the internet, but nothing happens. This is really annoying me.

Try running disk defragmentar, also try scanning for spyware and viruses. How long have you had this problem, or did it just start acting up recently?

Recently, about 2 hours ago. It started when I was surfing on the internet and I didn't notice that my Norton Antivirus was off. What programs do you recomend for cleaning my computer of spyware?
