Annoying problems - please help

Okay, i got my new E6300 CPU up and running today. but now i cant run all 4gb of my memory in dual channel. i either get no video, or bad post with some lines across the screen. i can, however, run all 4gb in single channel mode, or less than 4gb in dual channel. I can even run 3 random sticks together, boots and posts fine. but with 4gb set to run in dual channel it has issues. this happened with my E4500 as well, but i finally managed to get everything to boot properly, dual channel and all. i did not remove the DIMMs when i changed the CPU. I did however unplug the power.

Nothing is overclocked, yet.

I have the bios revision 1403 for my board, latest one as far as i know.

I just had a BSOD with a memory dump, something along the lines of BAD_POOL_HEADER.

I just decided to run 2gb for now :(

The memory i am using is 4x 1GB Corsair XMS2 800mhz sticks. 2 sticks are ver2.7, the other 2 are ver5.2 (the 5.2 ones are the ones Aastii sent me :))

EDIT: checked Asus website, new 1404 bios is out. be back after flashing

According to this my memory is on the QVL:

Okay i fixed it :).

A few google searches revealed that i needed to up the voltage. this succedeed, but i had to go from 1.9v (auto) to 2.175v. is that safe?

what is the dram timing running at?

i think the two different version have different timings. 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1 and 5-5-5-18 @ 1.9

Both sets of memory are 5-5-5-18 and 1.9v, says so on the stickers.

Had a few bsods, memory now running default clocks/timings, with 2.25v (had to go this high, otherwise bsods :( )

Haven't really tested anything yet, will play some games and do some 3dmark06 later :)

I would remove two sticks then run memtest.. then switch drams using the same sockets and run again. If all test good there I would retest it using the other memory socket to make sure there is not a problem with the MB. Just a suggestion...

I did stability testing when all 4gb worked before, had no problems. and that was running 900mhz with default voltage
