I know you guys are sick of these, but here's another one. I would like to get a new laptop with my check from mr. bush. Budget is $700 max. I really don't have alot of experence with laptops other than my sony vaio, and a toshiba model my old gf had. She bought it from walmart last year and it worked ok. It was when computer with 512MB of ram where having a heck of a time running vista. She ended up returning it because it didn't run right. I was checking out several models on newegg.com website. This one caught my eye, but noone has written a review for it...

Another question I have is I'm using a Sierra wireless 881 air card from AT&T for my internet. Will it work with this model?

I see there is a difference between a PC card, and a express card. And that model takes a express card. I need to find one that will take a PC card.

That laptop has integrated graphics and a "limited" processor. If you can get by with good but not great vista performance, it will do fine.

Ok Think I'm going to keep looking. I would like to find one with a PC card slot so I don't need to get another internet card. I noticed that alot of laptops don't have high Mhz processers like my sony. You have to get into the big dollar ones before you find them? Does anyone know what my sony cost brand new back in 2004. I see refurbished one for sale for $1500 still.

According to one of my friends my sony is still pretty up to date. The RAM upgrade really helped. Think I'll run this one til she calls it quits. I was looking at the refurbished laptops on newegg.com. Anyone have any experence with these?

To be honest , I am really sick of TOSHIBA , especially when my laptop hard drive broke up and it was TOSHIBA as well. I also have few friends with HP notebooks and their HDDs crashed as well for 18 months - guess what they were - TOSHIBA !

be careful!

Interesting. I got a Toshiba 120GB external hard drive for my sony. Havn't had any problems with it. Think I'll just keep my eyes and ears open.
