another intel vs. amd

amd phenom II x2 521 vs. intel core 2 duo e4700 what do you guys think? i have the phenom machine with 10gigs twin 500 gig hdds currently dual monitors getting ready to do triple and maybe quad monitors.also 3 operating systems. someone gave me the other computer with the core 2. after repairs its running 4 gb ram and a 160 gb ide drive. i fixed it up for my little one. but just curious. would the intel be able to compete with my pc so to speak.

Overall the Phenom II 521, which is really a renamed Athlon II 275. The Intel e4700 is faster clock for clock. But The Phenom II is running 900 mhz. faster.

but i must say, it looks like you are using three sticks of ram, not the best idea. When you use only 2 sticks they go into dual channel mode which improves performance, so unless you have a real reason for the extra 2 gigs then it would be better to use just 8. Although if the 2 gigs are 2 separate 1gb sticks, then i think it is still in dual channel and then it is fine
