Another Upgrade?

I heard about that as well, but the way you worded it may freak some people out.


First off, yes it's most likely true that DX10.1 is coming with Vista SP1, and yes it's true that you will need a new video card to utilize the features of DX10.1.

However the good news is that DX10.1 offers virtually nothing that gamers or programmers will benefit from, so you can still use your 8x00 and 2x00 cards with DX10 games and you wont notice anything (most likely) in terms of graphics between the two.
 
For the time being my 7600GS is fine; but when the time comes that i need to upgrade to be able to play most games, then i will.
