My friend's computer ceased to operate recently. Every time it boots it gives the message about not being able to find ntokrnl, and i'm not sure how to configure the harddrives to fix this. Also he has lost the ability to boot from his cdrom drive. I have tried several cdrom drives, several windows cds (longhorn beta1 and his winxp home). An ide harddrive still seems to be able to boot, though thats not we wanted to do. Could anyone give me some advise?
he asked me to help him fix it for him, and even though i told him i dont know what to do he still expects me to fix it
