Another "which board to get" thread

About to build my new PC, never actually built from the ground up before but I pretty much have an idea of how to put it all together. I'm having trouble deciding on specs though. I've pretty much figured out that I would like a SLi enabled board, to save from upgrading to one later. And I'm going to get an Athlon 3200+, 939 socket CPU. So I'm basically deciding between these two boards at newegg. Can someone tell me if they're pretty much the same? One is $22 cheaper, and I would like to save all the money I could.

I'd go with the DFI. The ASUS is really nice, but kind of overhyped. For price/performance ratio the DFI is better becasue for reason such as it overclocks better.

they really do i love mien i had no problems and all this crap about they sux is wrong they are made for gaming and if u arent going to game then dont get it

but it come with the guru tech. and it allows u to oc the cpu and other stuff a little bit and it comes with a panel that u put int the frount of ur tower (in a drive space)and i displays temp. speed of fans, the mhz of ur cpu and volts

Minus the well known NB cooler issue (which resulted in ASUS releasing the Premium to address that ... odd that ASUS didnt discon the DLX or make a "rev2" or something). With the A8N SLI DLX there being $120, you might want to consider the Albatron K8SLI [$110]

But seriously, is there any reason to get the ASUS over the Gigabyte? They seem pretty much identical
For the most part not really. Between the two boards, I would personally get the ASUS one since I have a preference for their board layout and their BIOS's overall cleanliness and implementation

the ASUS has great software for it, im telling you, get it, completly worth it
Um... you bought the board based on ASUSProbe?

and asus is one of the best com. out there right now
They are damn near the best. But that's an overall thing. Zooming into K8 boards, with the exception of the recent A8N32SLI DLX, you can often find vastly superior boards from other makers

but kind of overhyped.
Good to note that they're overhyped only for K8 boards

he didnt say the dfi
he only said asus and gigabyte but not a dfi
Quite aware of that and hence the suggestion was to consider a different brand

actully, see if you can get acess to an Abit Fata1ity board, they kick ass, ask Fata1ity fan
For $200 you can get far superior boards.

 They're also for people running SLI......

Pssst damn near every maker has software like that but just called differnt things.... 'sides any serious overclocking is done in BIOS anyways
