Another Windows Install Question

Is it possible/legal to use a CD that you got with your PC (Say a Dell disk) but then register XP with the product key of another computer? (Friend's computer didn't come with install CD and they can't get one - Use my install CD and use their product key)

Any disks that come with one system are tied to the serial number of that one machine since those are branded and not full install only recovery disks. For another system you would need to inquire how to create a recovery disk for the other machine or buy a full install disk separately.
