another Word problem - can anybody help?

I've been using Word to make my documents,
now this morning it won't open - it just shows that little screen that says "this product is licensed to, etc" and it sits there with the little arrow and hourglass waiting, waiting, waiting

It did open one time, with a little gray box saying something about an error, and offering a selection to use "safe mode" - so I did - and it presented a blank document, which I used and stored.

but now I can't open Word again, and it doesn't even give me that option for safe mode

why is this happening, and is there something that I can do to get it working properly again?

Try going into your add remove programs and click on the repair option for office and see if that helps. If not simply uninstall and reinstall it.
 
Start -> control panel -> add/remove programs look for microsoft word click on the button next to it and click repair when the menu comes up

this is what has happened:
I did nothing - I thought to try One More Time - and it worked
(after 2 hours of trying)
