few dumb questions

so I just opened it up and am looking at the wires. I see the 24 pin and i know that one, but what is this 8pin one with a 4pin coming off it? I think the 4pin is for if you have P4, but the 8?

also, the power switch, the circle down and line up is off, correct?

and will it say which cable is for SATA and other things that aren't usual 4 pins

Oh, we can help, we're just not obligated to. You really should change your attitude for the best. I have the same PSU and I don't have any cables that are 8-pin so I don't know what you're talking about. The only cables I have are PCI-E, standard 4-pin, 24-pin, SATA, and another connection that I don't need. Dash is power on, Circle is power off. Some of the wires have labels. My SATA cables didn't have a label though. Click the link below to see what a SATA cable looks like.

I also have the same PSU and only have the connectors listed above - no 8 pin connector. Are you sure they're 8 and not 6 pin? The 6 pin connector is for PCI-E.

Only ones I have coming straight out of mine are the 24 and 4 pin connectors for the Mobo, and a little two wire fan connector so you can read the PSU's fan RPMs through the mobo. That's it. Sounds like you got a lemon.
 
possibly, I might check but it's really not bothering me since it's up and running. I posted this thread before I'd built it so I didn't know what would happen..
 
well how many switches do you have that have the line and circle on seperate halfs? I dunno about you but I can't think of one...on buttons just have a circle with a line from it

.
