antec truepower....fan only connectors.

My power suppply just went bang, and bought a new power supply online and it has finally arrived :D

Now, upon installing I released i'd used all of the 4 pin connectors (all 5). This is a problem because I need 6 :eek: . I used the fan only connector on my CPU but it doesn't keep it cool enough. I have thus removed one connector from my CD/R drive and is now being used for the CPU. I was wondering, does anyone else have the same power supply, and use the fan only connectors for anything else? Any problems etc?

Fan only connectors are just as they read...they are ONLY for fans... I'm not totally sure, but I beleive most of them will adjust the speed/volts according to the load on the power supply.

I don't even use them in my case, rather, I just let the motherboard control everything. I can check them sometime, if I think about it... See what voltages they run at during idle
 
Ahhh, is there such a thing as an SATA to molex connector? I've seen molex to SATA, Do they work the other way round ?
 
You can get molex splitters easy enough if you need more, I don't know of SATA->molex but then again I've never looked. TOO has it, the fan only connectors adjust voltage based on the load on the PSU (like the PSUs fan runs)
