Antech Twelve-Hundred

Obviously a b-e-a-utiful case with lots of air flow but is it worth $160 shipped?
I think so but then again i've been out of the scene for awhile ... pluse i REALLY like blue leds:D

Yeah, I'd say that was a good price. It's about $200 here in the UK. Antec have a really good quality feel to them, plus, that case is monstrous in size! I'd snap it up like a fat kid with pie!

I disagree actually. As one reviewer I read recently (Maximum PC Sept 2008) said,

"more fans, more fuss, and more frustration than your average case" relating to the lack of screwless mountings for hard drives and the very tight horizontal fit. You have to remove a grand total of 16 screws to fit a single hard drive LOL.

Its a nice case but I am not sure its worth 160, I would pay the extra $50 and get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119138

Well the screw thing doesn't bother me because im in the 21st century and have a nifty little tool called a BATTERY POWERED SCREWDRIVER! ... sorry its just thats my pet peave with case reviewers..... i mean come on! it takes an extra 2 seconds to buzz out 5 screws..... but i digress, i simply don't like the look of the cosmos nor do i like all the stuff they got going on inside.... but thanks for the recomendation....

I ask because i REALLY liked the 900 but with a 280 i hear it would get squezed plus this one has dust filters...

well big fella i wold disagree with you about the 1200 and the choice of case you posted!!!

i am going off my experience with the antec900 and so is kornowski, the 900 is smaller than the 1200 and its pritty much the same design with a few extras and extra size!!!

if i can fit my rig in the900 with out crying about screwless mounting (as if a screwdriver is hard to use)
im sure the 1200 will be a dream, the style+size+airflow apeals to me and the fact there is room for a good water cooling setup :)

and as for your reviewer TSHHH-why buy the 1200 if he didnt like all the fans??

seams to me like the reviewer had just changed from a small screwless case to the monster 1200 and was expecting? a smaller case with less fans and screwless design-

You can't go wrong with that case I've had it about a month.
It comes with 8 fans, 6 are in the case and the other two come in the box.
I love the thing it has a lot of room.

Thats fine we are all allowed to have our opinion, yet it is 16 screws per hard drive not 5. Screwless hd cadies are pretty much a standard these days.

yeh i know where you come from but the majority of antec900/1200 owners are not really bothered as the plus side of these cases are greater than the negatives!!!

the only thing about them that i dont really like is the psu being at the bottom-you need the psu to have long leads to reach some motherboard power sockets!

yeh-! heat rises!!! its just a awkward dam place cos your mobo leads need to be prity long to hide them otherwise you have them going over yer graphics card etc like mine :(

I fail to see how you have to remove 16 screws to remove one HDD!? Ok, so there are 4 on each side of the HDD Cage, that's 8, Then there's 2 to hold the HDD in the cage. That's not 16... That person obviously can't add up and should probably invest in this;

You don't even need to put all the screws in. Using only 4 screws would be fine for the HDD cage and only 2 for the actual HDD.

Having the PSU on the bottom is awesome. My Three Hundred (just a quarter of the case that the Twelve Hundred is) is a really great case, I would recommend any in the Hundred series.
