anti-virus and firwalls

relating to this which provided me with some very useful software (AVG and ZoneAlarm) but now im having to re-install it as I formatted the HDD. From what I found from the 2 websites, they no longer offer the FREE version.

Can somebody recommend some FREE one please?

AVG is still free, they just yanked it off their main website, go here for the free version.

Or go to download.com and search up zonealarm or avg and it mite have the free download.

I hear that Avast anti-virus is really good as well, (it's also free). some free firewalls are Outpost and Kerio.
