Anti-Virus Help.

First off, hi, I am new :). Secondly, I don't know much about computers, so don't go all tech on me :D

Well, I am going to buy a new computer soon and I was wondering what I should buy. To be honest I have never looked into it too much what software is good etc. I don't really mind about the price. I am currently using Kaspersky and it seems ok. I have only used it a day or two though.

I am after something which will have all-round protection. Firewall, Anti-Malware, Anti Virus etc.

I am getting that computer so I want something that isn't going to slow it down much. I was thinking about the AVG full version as when I did have the free version, it seemed very good. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/st...u=720424&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null Is £70 overpriced? It does last for two years. Does this also mean I will have free updates for two years too? So if they brang out a new version mine would update to it?

Thanks.

Your links do not work for me. If you are providing those links when you are signed into the site, that could be the reason. All I get is it says connection to the site is terminated and then it goes to home page of the site.

I would say the price for the computer is about average. However, you did know that the version of AVG you linked to is for 3 users correct? Unless you plan on using it on 3 computers, the price is too high. I already looked and they don't have a 1 user version. Maybe you can find one from a different company?

I would be using it on two computers, maybe even a 3rd so I guess I need the 3 Users.

I have a few more questions which are pretty silly, but I guess if you don't know you need to ask :D.

- If I was to buy the AVG Software, would I be fully covered, sercurity wise? Is there any things that is missing in the Software, which I would need?
- The computer I am planning on buying (Link in the first post). Would the AVG software slow the computer down?
- The AVG software does last for two years. Does this also mean I will have free updates for two years too? So if they brang out a new version mine would update to it?

Thanks for your time :).

No, it wouldn't slow the computer down at all. And AVG would be all the software you would need. However, I would install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware too just in case. There is malware getting past every internet security program now anyway.

Thanks, I will take a look at the two programs you mentioned.

I do have one more question :P.

The AVG software does last for two years. Does this also mean I will have free updates for two years too? So if they brang out a new version mine would update to it? (It does say in the description on PC World I will have ''Free Automatic Updates''.)

I know you will get virus definition upgrades for 2 years, not sure if you will get program version upgrades though. Might want to contact AVG.

Ok thanks, aslong as I have the latest Virus protection updates I am not too bothered.

If I have anymore questions I shall post them in this thread.

Thanks for your time :).
