Just wondering in your opinion or anyone out there... whats the best anti-virus software ???

Personally ive had bad luck with Norton, bad installs causing fatal errors with the program.

Mcaffee is alright... no probs there...

AVG.. is ok

However I did see a program called Etrust antivrus ? Anyone tried this. It seems pretty good ?

Let me know

Nope, Ive used Norton the past 2 years and Mcafee b4 that. Norton is being a real pain in the A$$ now so 4get them. I cant even erase the norton 2006 heading in my add/remove programs list... SO im in the market for a new antivirus

AVG is not all that great, ive used it and it never found any viruses. I love Avast, it found viruses on my comp that AVG never found.

Avast for me! its a very great softwear.....simple to use. never tried AVG, but i'm totaly sastified with Avast.

Amante- go to this page and run the first autotool to get rid of norton...i just did that yesterday...

however, I kept getting a message saying that Liveupdate was running, so i had to uninstall liveupdate before i could run it. But once i ran it, norton was off the computer in less than 10 minuites. Now i'm trying to figure out if i need avast or avg. I see pros and cons of both, and i've had people tear me a new one when i say i'm thinking of using one or the other. So i'm on the fence right now.

One year free licence from AOL and Kaspersky Antivirus.Since AOL admits to gathering info, just decline the install of the 'Security Toolbar'.It's not the full KAV version- missing HTTP scanning and Pro-active Defense, but contains the same File and Mail AV and KILLER Signatures as Kaspersky 6.0.

Im using avast! free edition have zero problem with viruses since I installed it.
Certfiied good by rayZa.

The best anti virus I have ever used, for both virus protection, detection, updating and resource lite is NOD32. But as most people say, it's down to personal preference really because most benchmark websites on these types of software all report different things. But I would have to say that without a doubt the best that I have used is NOD32.
