Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast are the top 2 programs right now. I use Avast and like it.

I've got Kaspersky Internet Security and it seems to work really well without annoying me to the point of uninstall.

I remove virus's for a living. And for the curious at heart, their doesn't seem to be a lot out there that will stop that nasty malware from getting on your computer, except Web Roots Spy Sweeper.

I have used Trend Micro for the last 10 years, looking to save a few bucks for my clients I have tried Avast, AVG, and have in the past actually recommended Microsoft Security Essentials. For customers with Comcast, I have recommend the FREE Norton they give away, and that is a decent product, BUT I have removed Malware from computers using all of them.

It only takes one wrong click, and BAM a call to your local computer tech.

I have tested Spy Sweeper against known locations of malware, and it flat stopped it from ever getting on my computer.

The only con to this program is if your computer is old, it will slow it down some.

So the question is, how curious are you?

Is it me, or does it seem like 50 posts in the space of four days a little prolific? That's a lot of advertising for this guy...

I find nothing wrong with Norton, but since Microsoft Security Essentials comes free, I find nothing wrong with not having to pay $60 a year for Norton security software.

And absolutely do not use Norton or McAfee, they are terrible!

I agree with you.Norton sucks.Back in 2003. and 2004. I had Norton 2003 and 2004 and they both sucked. They would always detect 0 viruses and my system was full of them haha!
As for McAfee, the newest version sucks I agree with that completely!
However the version 8.5.0 I have is very good and I have tested it by going on the WORST sites and nothing actually did not come into my system and McAfee also immediately reported me that the virus went into my system, but that it has prevented it and automatically deleted it.
Note that I use McAfee VirusScan Console 8.5.0 together with McAfee Antispyware which is the best I ever had.Other McAfee products sucks, especially these new ones.

My recommendation to everyone is McAfee VirusScan Console 8.5.0 together with McAfee Antispyware + Malwarebytes Anti Malware 1.51.
Just keep in mind that if you do not configure McAfee properly,it will not protect you well at all lol.

Also Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty good.

I use Avira free edition software.

Hehehe try to surf the worst porn sites and you will realize why it's "free" :p :p :p :D:D:D
