antivirus software crashes

Hi all. I have not been into this forum for a while's time. Everything still the same as before? I supposed. Okay, so here it goes.

I have bitdefender antivirus software with antispam, antispyware and firewall features bundled together. Every 5 hours of use I would get error message as follows: "A required resource was not available" with the bdmcon.exe on the same dialog box. I have research that bdmcon.exe is part of bitdefender subsystem and should not be removed or disabled. After I restart the pc and again after 5 hours or so of use, the same error message reappears. Besides that the scan status bar would have a slight glitch that shows a froze bar instead of an actively moving bar.

What is more frustating is that on a random occasion, though not as much as the above mentioned error, the bitdefender will just crashed and error message appears as follows: bitdefender has just encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell microsoft about it.

My question is, does anyone knows what are the possible causes of these errors? It is up to date and there are no issues until every 5 hours of use.

No response after posting this thread for 5 days already? I shall summarise it further for everyone to understand. I am using bitdefender antivirus bundled pack retail 2007.
Ever since installed a couple of months ago, the whole bitdefender program will just crashed and I have to manually restart the security program or restart windows, which is annoying as I would usually leave the computer turned on for more than 5 hours but every 5 hours or so it will just crashed and even after I restart the program manually, it will just crashed in another 2 hours or so.
The software is updated automatically so I don't think there is another patch or so.

To put it even more simply, what are the common causes of antivirus software crashing issues?

I really need solutions. It is damn annoying and I need suggestions.

Have you tried the easiest solution = deleting the software and reinstalling it? I assume this is legal software and you have the cd for it. Just reinstall it and see if that fixes it. Since you have already purchased it i will spare you the usual free software does just as good of a job IMO speech... Just try to reinstall it first and if that doesnt work try getting the exact error in a screenshot for us to look at for you.
