If you are looking for a full version of XP Pro or Home editions the prices have fallen greatly in the last several months. You can search the shopping sites for the lowest prices at vendors like directsoftware.com, pagecomputers, and others at sites like nextag.com. bizrate.com, shopping.com and others. They run now at some places for under $80 new. In fact the latest search at http://www.nextag.com/xp-full-version/search-html show $55 and $59 as the selling prices on both versions.

there's a tab on ebay called "buy it now" which does show you the full price of the item. i just looked and the cheapest one there is like $58 though.

The "bid at Yahoo" also has the buy now option as seen with a starting bid on one at $38 with the $49.99 buy now there. First you have to have an account there like you would at any other vendor in order to place or buy. On many occasions some dealers will clear inventory at those sites. But you can also get "snookered" if you are not careful. Why spend on used and scratched disks when an oem goes for a little more?

don't buy a used one. people get scammed on ebay and find that their key doesn't work. that's why i asked if he had the key already and just needed the disk. i wouldn't worry about them being scratched.

When you go to install Windows, create or delete a partition using the installer, or come up short on an essential system file when seeing installation errors then you'll wish you did not have scratches where important files were unreadable. A cd depends on being read by what? It isn't magnetism like seen on hard drives and floppies is it? Optically read!

That means anything that obstructs the lens like scratches, finger marks, etc. will hamper the ability to read off of it. That along with not having the product key if no sticker with that on it is included will leave you hanging out to dry! There's no exchanges on "used" there. You get used!

Why do that when you could wait for vista on January 31. But I guess if you really want too you could buy windows xp. Or you could download it from a torrent... torrents ussually come with a CD Key.
Please note I dont support it, Its completely your fault if Bill Gates tackles you in his boxers.

Welcome to the forum. :) However that would be considered illegal and against forum rules, you might want to read them. ;)
