Well, yeah... I'm looking for a good monitor 17" minimum diagonal size though 19" is prefered. The limit is £180 at the most and it must be a flat panel (flat screen) LCD / TFT display. I will be using it to do a lot of photo editing and will be using Adobe Photoshop. I dont care whether there are speakers or not so long as the display is good.

Nice fast, and good manufactured monitor (17" TFT 8ms 500:1):

Very good LG monitor (17" TFT 8ms 500:1):

Or theres this one also by Samsung (19" TFT 8ms 500:1 only £152 ! Amazing qual for the price):

Another Samsung with a better ratio (19" TFT 8ms 600:1) :

It's a little over the budget (a couple of quid inc p&p) but you could get my monitor, it's definitely worth the money: (Samsung 'Best Seller' SM913N 19" TFT 8ms 700:1 (1280x1024) Monitor - Silver & Black (3 Years On Site Warranty):

All of these are for less than £180. Check out the others on Ebuyer, it's where I got my monitor from cheap as chips and it's really good.

wow thanks :D I'm going for the best buy... As Im not really fussed I can do the supersaver delivery and stay in the black :D

btw... what does ms mean? as on the specs it says 8ms...

Thanks for all your help

8ms is the response time of the monitor. The lowest you can get right now is 8ms so that monitor is spot on ideal. Although I think viewsonic just released a 4ms monitor however I bet that will cost at least £300.

And your welcome :) Trust me, with that 19" monitor you wont be disappointed, I really like it, great for gaming too with that response time, no ghosting occurs on any of the games ive played (and I have played both FEAR and HL2).

Your welcome :). Also, with the cd that comes with the monitor, install it, it doesnt kill any resources and it does actually improve the colour qual a little, or at least it did for me.

There have been 4 ms monitors out for quite awhile now and theres 2ms monitors out to. so you can get lower then 8ms.

8ms is not the lowest you can get, you have been able to get 8, 6, 5, 4(maybe 3?) and 2ms monitors for a long time, they really arn't that expensive either, but the rest of the specs arn;t that great.

Viewsonic VA902, excellent monitor, 8ms response time, I have this monitor and it has a great display on it, crisp and clear:D

I bought it for £190 around a year ago.
Surely it should be under £180 by now:)

For 8ms comment being the best you can get was more for his price range and not availability, I kind of worded the post wrong and for that I do apologise :). I never realised a 2ms monitor was out though, who's manufacturing that?
