Any Other Options Other Than Laptops?

I am thinking of possibly buying another computer but it needs to be somewhat portable and easier to upgrade than a typical notebook computer.

I would like a computer design that would be simple to pick up and put away. The system doesn't have to be able to sit on my lap. I don't like notebooks because everything is crammed into a small space which compromises upgrades and processing power.

The computer would mainly be used for internet and word processing. Are there any computer models that someone could steer me towards?

yes. search for small form factor computer. I know dell has a small optiplex, and hp also has a small desktop of some sort. So does lenovo. lol.

I don't think you'll need to do a lot of upgrading in the future if the comp's going to be used for word processing/internet... I'd just go with a notebook. Notebooks do have quite a bit of procesing power (More than you seem to think, way more than needed for office/internet), even though upgrades will be largely limited to memory/HDD(s).

How often does a screen or the keyboard break???? Not very - only if you through and muck around with it....

Also if you buy a small desktop then you have to buy everything else like keyboard & mouse etc....

Macintosh Mini? There are a few Intel based ones, so they should run bootcamp/Windows. Though they really aren't that upgradable besides RAM and additional factory peripherals (wifi and/or bluetooth, HD size, optical drive...)
