It supports DL discs and with a firmware upgrade will burn +/- at 16X Here, this one is on the higher end of their optical drives and is only $50, Lite-on makes Sony Drives, so they make good stuff http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827106988
