Any Suggestions?

I recently bought my friend's PC from him. He built it three years ago and decided he didn't care much for it at all so I bought it from him for a mere 50 bucks.

Now, I have never owned a custom built PC or have never tried to build one. I am just barely learning all the hardware terms and am figuring out what goes where. I took apart most of the PC last night and this is what it has.

ASUS Striker Extreme motherboard

CORSAIR Dominator 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model

EVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

ASUS Supreme FX (Rev.1.046) Sound driver

INTEL D60188-001 SOCKET 775 COPPER CORE HEAT SINK FAN UP TO CORE 2 DUO E6300 DESKTOP PROCESSOR

Western Digital Hard Drive (not sure what kind, could only see the western digital logo)

And a Hiper PSU (not sure what type, didn't want to mess with it.

It is also in a Sunbeam Transformer case

Since he has had this PC for about three years there are a few glitches. Mainly, after reading about the Striker Extreme board I realized I have that dreaded CPU INT problem. What makes it worse is that I have the Corsair RAM, which apparently are a bad combination with the Striker board.

I am not about to spend hours upon hours trying to boot up my computer. I guarantee I will mess something up if I try to fiddle with everything myself some more.

I am looking for a new motherboard, but I have NO idea what will be compatible with all my other components.

Any suggestions?

Anything with a socket 775 will be fine, as long as it's RAM buses are compatible with that old DDR2 800. Personally, I prefer BioStar, but that's just my preference.

I would never suggest a specific motherboard unless I'd taken the system apart myself, so I can't provide a link. Cheers.
