any thoughts on my electric bill?

ibm eserver x235 has unix for now, think 4 of 6 hdds bad. only 1 Xeon cpu. 1gb ram.

was going to use 2 hd for scsi raid mirror and install server 2003/2008.

if that works, get more ram. think 6gb/12gb. has 6 slots.
if that works, get 2 best cpu's i can find.

any thoughts?

it's a tank. home use for now.

first, wondering how much electricity this thing will consume compared to a desktop/work station..

and am i wasting time/money to upgrade, or would this be a good canidate for an upgrade?

i think i have few bad hard drives, going to check. might have some spares.

but before i sink time/ money just trying top get some thoughts..

What is the total harddrive size on your IBM server?

Does it serve more than one computer?

Have a look at the price of an external drive (say 2TB) about £85 (Amazon).

Would that be better (and cheaper to run)
