Will this setup be great?
Any downsides in it?
Which would you recommend on optical drive?
Am I missing something?

EDIT: Is it okay to install the OS to the hard drive or do I have to buy a SSD? If so, what would be the lowest recommended size to intall OS in it?

For gaming, an i5 2500k would work just as well. The main difference is hyper threading, which most games wouldn't utilize.

For an optical drive, doesn't really matter, I just got the cheapest one. Unless you want Blu-ray, then a 24x drive is fine.

For the PSU, I would really recommend a different one. For a single video card, get 650w and for two video cards, get 750w. And change the brand. Look for Corsair, antec, silverstone, seasonic, PC power and cooling, or xfx.

Hitachi isn't the best brand, I would get a samsung, western digital, or seagate, but I understand that hard drive prices are high right now.

I'll edit my first post and put these there

EDIT: I still prefer i7 and i'll probably going to get the cheapes optical drive because I don't need blu-ray. :D

my i7/560ti setup maxes out BF3 with zero issues. Just make sure you have enough VRAM, with what ever card you select.
