does anyone know of some freeware that can take any type of like avi file or any type of video file and convert it into mpeg 4?

now when i convert it is it a relatively small file as well or does compressing need to be done later. or are all mpeg 4's generaly small files.

i will be putting video onto a friends ipod video. where can i get htat program cause i ahve nero enterprise edition, is it on there? can u give me link possibly? thanks for the help

well i heard that u need quicktime pro to convert a video to mpeg 4. can any one recommend quicktime pro or has anyone used it before?

an ipod video, 30 gig and im probably gonna be doin like tv show episodes? and if i put in a dvd with a show on it can i put that on my ipod?

im not sure how ipod works.. but u can go to www.kinoma.com and download their kinoma producer trial

convert it to mpeg 4

and if ipods automatically plays it.. then it should work.. if not u might need a player..it says it supports psp and pda's.. but u can try for ipod.. never hurts to try

thats true but i dont get how i could possibly get an epsiode from like a south park dvd and put it into a folder in mpeg 4 format. i dont even see how i could convert any video into mpeg 4 format with quicktime pro.

Either virtualdub (like apj101 said) or Gordian Knot or AutoGK if you want to go from DVD to divx/xvid/x264. All of those programs have some decent tutorials out there if you search (such as on doom9.org)
