Any way to record with two mics in Windows?

Without the use of software, is it possible to allow Windows to use two different microphones to record simultaneously?

I don't get your question because you need software to record.

It's definitely possible to hook up two mics in Windows, you just plug one in the mic port and the other in the line-in port.

The key word in my post is simultaneously -- I want to be able to record using two separate mics at the same time. And what I mean by software is if it is built-in to Windows to somehow allow this functionality, or would I absolutely need software to record two sources at once, or to possibly combine multiple mics into one virtual mic.

Ah yeah, I've heard about using a mixer or something. Would definitely not work out as the microphones are coming from webcams, USB.

I heard of a program called Virtual Audio Cable -- I think that might work. It will let me combine multiple microphones into a "virtual mic" which Windows will see as one microphone.
