i have some personal info in a folder i want to hide. is there anyway to make a folder password protected?

It the program does work because i use it.

right click the folder and go to properties. Under sharing chose make this folder private. It will encrypt all data inside that folder, just make sure you keep back ups of it, because trying to recover an encrypted folder is a pain in the butt.

Then make permissions on it that only its owner (you) can read/write to it.

People will still be able to view its contents but not open anything up. You have to be running xp pro of course

for xp home you have to download an additional app to give you that option. I have a small utility that allows this in windows xp home, but I am certain I can not attach .exe files to my posts.

i tried this and it doesnt give me the option of make this folder private, its a gray color and doesnt allow me too
