ey, me and some guys are trying to make a game like metal slug on VB. we need to know how to create some AI for the NPCs and how to control the movements of the main character, like jumping, moving right, left, and shooting. we plan to use the W,A,S,D, keys as well as the space bar for jumping. any suggestions are greatly appreciated

read up on programming...because I don't think you know anything about it by the sounds of your post. There is a LOT to learn before you jump into making games

I am in a pissy mood, because you seem to want to start beef with me, on a computer forum of all places...I don't know what you have against self-learning and looking up questions instead of asking someone else to do your work for you.
The real world doesn't work like this...have fun after highschool if you manage to graduate
The fact is....there are many 500+ page books on VB coding, most of them come with a free VB6.0 compiler, so how do you think it would be possible to teach someone the entire language right here? That's what school is for, and that's what books are for, and that's what google is for...because that's what the web is for.
It's a language like any other...it would be like you teaching him how to speak french if he's never spoken a single word in his life.

I never claimed i knew anything about vb, thats whyI didn't post anything about itl. Of corse im in over my head about something I lack interest and knowlegde in. Maybe that's why I admited to it?

Are you having a laugh, it would take ages to design, create images, code the program and so on. If you can't be bothered doing any of that than you are looking in the wrong place.n0cturnal said:

One more thing, if you wanna make a game in vb that has characters and whatnot then it just shows that you have very very very limited knowledge in programming. Visual Basics is not intend for games of that sort. I'd try C++ or Flash MX.
Edit: Will you guys give (Jerkstore & Xycron) it a rest. And Yes, Google is not the best thing since sliced bread
