Hey guys, I just finished building my computer last night. When i plugged it in i saw the yellow standby leds lit, so I knew I could proceed. When I powered it on, it wasn't that loud, but after a second there was a really loud clicking noise. After I turned it off and back on everytime after that it still continued. I examined the problem, and foud it's my 7800gt. Theres nothing stuck in the fan or anything, but I guess when it starts spinning at high speeds it gets clicky. On the back, there are adjustable springs to dampen vibration, and I have begun toying with those as well. I still can't get it to stop being loud/clicky. If anyone else knows how to fix this or had the same problem, please help. Thanks, -Matt

TL;DR: My 7800 is excessivley loud/clicky, care to help me out?

Hey

I am not an owner of a 7800GT BUT I can tell you that it should not be doing that. I would have it returned or if that's too much hassle, install an aftermarket fan :)

JAN :D

if its the fan i would suggest eather return it for a new one or get a gpu fan from newegg or something like that.. (i wouldent be messing with it)...
i think its 2 much money to just be pokeing at it like that Lol...

read something in one of the reviews at newegg.com about the 7800gt being very loud and making a weird sound. so you not the only one . Gonna have to return it or get an aftermarker fan.

lol thats why im saveing my money and getting gtx after xmas...
price does need to go down thou its been at 509 for about a month now :(

Guys, I know what the problem is. Like the cad must not be in the slot correctly, casue when i move it slightly up it stops (the noise must be the fan skipping againt the plastic casing).
