I have my system setup with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 I like both OS's but I tend to use Ubuntu more often lately. Ubuntu seems to be more stable and does not crash nearly as much as windows seems to.

Ive used both, but I find that ubuntu 12 is not worth it to use. I don't like the flashy stuff that it has.
If you are having issues with windows 7 crashing, then you have issues with your system. I am sure johnB35 eill be able to help you if you can explain what happens before it crashes.

I have Windows 7 Ult on gigabyte motherboard. It is stable and no crash when i overclocked my i3. It might has do with your RAM, CPU or motherboard.

Just little hint.

most of the time it is not hardware but maleware that causes it. And because you are running well does not mean that everyone will with the same equipment. No 2 computers are the same, even with the same parts.

That is true. Just a hint that might be his hardware issue with windows 7. I have first old PC emachine with windows 7 and is tend to crash often, but Ubuntu is more stable and no crash. I had found problem, it is CPU but since my motherboard has died, i got Gigabyte motherboard last summer.

If it was a RAM or CPU issue, then ubuntu would crash as often as windows. I think you are having more issues than you think there. Or it only crashes under heavy use which is much easier for most people to do in windows than Ubuntu.

When i read BSOD error code, it is RAM. I replace newest RAM but still problem then next thing i made my theory that it might be CPU. So i had ubuntu installed PC e-machine and it didn't crash, weird. Then few month later BIOS got corrupt and died.

One time my main BIOS died on gigabyte but live again by backup BIOS.

If it was a RAM issue, then theoretically Ubuntu could stand up to it better than windows. It may be able to recover from the error better than windows. But I maintain that if it was a CPU problem both would crash.
