I was thinking about taking my old machine and taking Windows XP Pro off only because I purchased and downloaded it last year from a scam website and got a fake activation code. I still have it on my old machine, but I can't do Windows Updates and can't upgrade to latest version of Win Media Player until I activate online with a key.

So I'm thinking about wiping entire drive after saving drivers to disk or at least where I can locate them again. Hewlett Packard...not gonna be a big problem...and then putting Ubuntu's latest version on, the .iso image of which I just downloaded to my current machine.

I have AT&T U-verse. Does anyone use a version of Linux as their host operating system and have no trouble connecting to their router wirelessly? I only ask because minimum requirements I have all of for U-verse's router compatibility, except that it doesn't list Linux as a compatible OS.

Thanks for any info.
