Anyone speak French? ..CPU comparison charts

I know a bit of french, and it's just a comparison between 100 processors.

It features comparisons of games and different era's of processors such as P4's, Celerons...

nice find o mght have a read through some of that ;)

just use a language transulation websiet and convert it.

Yes well read you, we propose yourself a comparative one of 100 processors. Why 100? And why not. Beyond on account of the fact that this figure is round and marking, we wanted to propose yourself a comparative suit that takes stock of the current offer of Intel and of AMD, to the dawn of major changes in the processor world. This is in fact next week that Intel will get up the sail on his new baptized architecture Nehalem and that succeeds the architecture Core apparent in 2006 (engraved in 65 nanometers) declined in 2007 in version 45 nanometers under name Penryn. Why not to have awaited the go out of these new processors go out this comparative one? Simply because Nehalem generates changes that will not be without consequence. The Nehalem is not a harmless passage with Intel and is part of what the caster calls a "Tock" : an architecture change as opposed to the "Tick" that is only a portage of an architecture towards a new procedure of manufacture. Thus, Core was a "Tock" while Penryn was only a "Tick", to know the portage of the architecture Core of the 65 to the 45 nanometers, with anyway to the passage some optimizations and the addition of the game of instructions SSE4. With Nehalem, Intel inaugurates a new architecture and remains with the manufacture process in 45 nanometers. It will be necessary to await the processors Westmere for the passage to the 32 nanometers, the next one "Tick" therefore.

With Nehalem, Intel changes socket. But one has not straight to a single change but to two! We will have in fact the sockets LGA 1366 and LGA 1160. The first city will be reserved to the Core i7 Quad Core high of range "Bloomfield" using the QPI (QuickPath Interconnect, substitute of the principle of the FSB) while the LGA 1160 will be reserved to the processors environment and low of range, to know the dual-core Lynnfield and quad core Havendale that will use them the DMI (Direct Medium Interface), while certain processors will have access to a graphic solution integrated. Regarding chipsets, the Core i7 will be coupled with a classical Northbridge (X58) and Southbridge (ICH10) while the CPU LGA 1160 will use a system to a single game of flea, the iBex Peak. Here that strongly will limit the possibilities of upgrade within the family Nehalem once the card mother chosen. If you choose for environment of range, the range top definitively will have closed you as long as you will not change any card mother. Other change and not of the least ones: the integration of the inspector memory DDR3 (triple canal) within the processor, same manner that AMD had integrated an inspector memory DDR1 within the first Athlon 64. It in results a logical incompatibility with the DDR2 you obliging to invest in of the DDR3!

100 compared Processors...

Brief, regarding upgrade, the passage to the Nehalem will oblige the purchase of a new card mother, of memory DDR3 if you not some possess again and of a new ventirad, except if the manufacturer of the your foresaw a kit of fixing LGA 1366. Intel is conscious of these parameters and history of not to seal its processor sales, the Core 2 Duets, Core 2 Quads, Pentium and Celeron still remain a long moment to the catalog. New processors on socket LGA 775 even are foreseen after the go out of Nehalem with for example a Core 2 Duets E7500 and a Core 2 Quads Q8300.

Side of AMD, one awaits the passage to an engraving fineness in 45 nanometers with the Deneb that are foreseen for the end of the year or the beginning of next year. Previously, these processors will be compatible with the socket AM2 + but later versions will inaugurate a new socket: l'AM3 that will bring in addition the support of the DDR3.

Seen the changes that will bring Nehalem and the Deneb on socket AM3, we wanted to mark the blow by a comparative one of 100 processors that somewhere allows doing the position point before the era Nehalem/Deneb while minimizing the factors influencing the performances as the memory since it is here again possible of all to compare them with the same DDR2. To the program of this comparative one: 50 processors AMD on socket AM2 and 50 processors Intel on socket LGA 775!

This must be why I always get D's in my french exams:( Free translations just do not work!

Yep looking at the graphs it doesnt look like there is a whole lot of diffrence between most of the cpus.I am sure none of them were oc'ed though dont' know if that would make too much a difference.
