I went out to do the impossible, and it worked. I built a gaming HTPC, not just any gaming HTPC, one with a brand new GTX 680 Overclocked and an i7 2600k overclocked to 4.3 GHz.

Other than the fack that im missing an ivybridge CPU, what else can i add?

CPU: Intel i7 2600k 3.4GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz
GPU: Msi Twin Frozr 3 NVIDIA GTX 680 2GB GPU
Motherboard: Gigabyte H77M-DH3
Hard Drives: 2x WD Caviar Green 2TB
Solid State Drives: 2x OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB
Optical Drive: LG BluRay Writer
Power Supply: Silverstone Strider Essentials 700w
Fans: 3x Silverstone 120mm Fans
2x Arctic F8 80mm Fans
CPU Heatsink: Scythe Big Shuirken R2 with Arctic F12 120mm Fan
Case: Silverstone GD06B HTPC Case
Wireless Card: Linksys Dual Band PCI Card
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Titanium

and CPU temps never climb above 60 degrees celsius, amazingly, since it is EXCESSIVELY compact...

That system is borderline overkill on a gaming machine, and you have it as a HTPC? Please tell me you game a little on it.

LAN Parties are awesome

Of course i game on it, triple monitors and everything, i cant waste that computing power. LAN parties are amazing with it. I said screw laptops when I was seriously considering purchasing one; they are $2000 for good ones, and still are only 1/5 th of what i have built. This is a bit larger than the fat ps3 and beats 75% of even custom desktops that people build. if you have SLI'd 680 then you have me beat

Ah, then very cool. Pretty good temps. What are your GPU temps?

And you'll need a second card for triple monitors.

680 does 3 monitors

Nope actually, the GTX 680 is the first NVIDIA single GPU that can run 3 monitors off one GPU, one reason why i got it.\

Temps peak at 60 degrees under benchmarking, stress testing, prime 95, you name it

Oh, learned something new.

But yeah, congrats on the build.

The only change I can see is scrapping the X-fi for an ASUS Xonar instead. Otherwise you're golden.

i do already have the highest end sound card that creative audio makes,

$200 soundblaster xfi titanium

is the asus one better?

I don't care for creative. Their drivers aren't the best and their cards can be fluky.
