Anything Worth Adding to my Notebook to "Hot Wire" It?

I got my "new" used Notebook just to use as a second computer in the bedroom to save trips to my desktop in the den, mainly to use on the web. The IBN Thinkpad T20, is the right size & feel for me (I also use a great logitech cordless mouse with it) but it seems a tad slow in comparison to my 900 MHZm 120 gigm 1024 RAM Pentium 4 XP media Center desktop. The ThinkPad is 700 MHZ, 15 gigs, 512 RAM, Windows 2000, Pentium 3. Is there anything I can add to this that will make the computer & internet run smooth such as upgrading the processors or changing to XP? The Gig space is more then enough for what I'm using it for. Any ideas? Thanks

well windows 2000 is usually used more for servers and workgroups and such, xp would be more for a consumer-level computer, which you are using it for, but I don't know how well those system specs would handle xp, like more than a third of your hard drive would be gone just from installing the OS. I'd just defrag and stuff like that to speed it up and look into upgrading to a different computer at some point.

Yea, Win2k would run a lot smoother on an older system like that. I'd also try to keep it cleaned up- meaning clearing the cache and temperary internet files (just do a disk cleanup) and a defrag.
