I am looking at getting a new AMD computer & I was looking at the Aopen XC Cubes. I saw that there was a 754 and a 939. On newegg the 754 is 150 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856140021 ) and the 939 is 300 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856140018 ). They also had a refurbish 939 for 220 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856140018R ) . I was only on planing to get the Athlon 64 3000+ Venice in either 754 or 939. I also want to use a 6800 GS video card. I want to know if the 754 is the way to go b/c it is cheaper or go with the 939 b/c it will be more expandable. I really like the design of the XC Cubes but if some had a really bad experiences or if this computer is not good for mild gaming then please tell me.

possibility

You could go with a micro atx board with the antec aria case (newegg). pretty small case, decent.

yeah i know i could upgrade but if i had the option with either a [mid tower 939 3000+ 4 slots for RAM and more space] or [an xc cube 754 althon 3000+ 2 slots of ram and less space but $75 cheaper than the last option]. both would have pc3200 ram 10/100/1000 LAN and pci-e . I plan to spend $300 on a mobo, cpu, case and psu. I want AMD. Either 754 or 939 but i know the 939 is more favorable. I think it would to nice to have a xc cube but i know what i am loosing. Please comment about this

ok if i got for the AOPEN XC case I don't know if i should go for the venice which is only in 3000+ for the socket 754. My other thoughts were either the 3400+ or 3700+ but from what i read they can get a little hot

ok that is what i thought at first but then i remembered the whole driver thing. They can be a pain but it is just one CD. Does anyone know a what to that from AOPEN

so if i do go referb then i would plan on getting a Athlon 64 3000+. You think in a few years it would pay out and upgrade then to something like the X2. And with the rebate it would be $70 more for the 939 refurb. When i started looking for a computer i have been trying to get a : CPU, MoBo, PSU, and a CASE for $320. This will also be my 2nd build and i would still like to have a manuel but cables are no probulem i know what i need and don't it is mainly the CD w/ drivers and manuel nut if you guys think 939 is defintly the best way to go then i will look in to it more. And like i said even if i do go 939, i would only get the 3000+ or the 3200+ but you are right i can upgrade to something like the X2 down the road without having to get a new barebones.
