Hi guys.. I'm new to the site..

I just spent $2700 on my computer and i had a few questions..

I bought the Apple Cinema HD Display (30" flat panel) for my computer but I'm a gamer.. I looked up as much about it as i could but still i couldn't find anything. Si i said what the heck i guess ill buy it and see if it is good for gaming or not. But after draining my account i realised that's allot of money and i want to make sure that I'm not making a HUGE mistake.

Thanks for any help!

im guessing it based on the same design/chipset as the new DeLL 30" because appl/dell run off of samsungs. If it is, then you are probably in luck. I will look at its response times and stuff so wait like 3 mins.

well it really doesnt say many specs, which means its probably not great for gaming.
however it has good versatility with the firewire and usb ports

my best advice would be to *if you didnt open it* to return it and buy a smaller screen, perhaps the 24 inch dell becaus eyou quite frankly dont need 30 inches, and to spend all that money

Thanks for the help. I had to order it because they didnt have any there so im not able to see for my self if it can handle gaming or not. i will get it in 2 weeks. I think the responce time is 16ms or so. Wich isnt that great.

I think im going to buy the VX924 Xtreme 19-inch LCD Monitor and an AMD X2 4800+

Thanks for the help!

wait...
how do you go from a 2700$ monitor to a like 400$ one?

You also said that you spent 2700$ on your "computer".

I think youre confused about everything, would you care to pm or im me what other parts you have/are getting?

Ok.

Today i spent $2700 on a Apple Cinema HD Display 30" LCD monitor. Im going to get a refund and buy a smaller monitor with a faster responce time because the apple 30" will have a little ghosting. The responce time is 16ms.

I looked on other forums and sites and a some places pointed out the ViewSonic VX924 Xtreme 19-inch LCD Monitor . It is cheaper and has a responce time of 3ms - 5ms.

My computer is as follows

Athlon 64 3200+ ~ 2.2GHZ
ASUS A8N-SLI Delux
X1800 XT 512mb
2GB corsair
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 SoundCard
Adaptec SCSI Card 29160N 68Pin
1x 9GB 10k RPM 68Pin Segate HD
1x 36GB 10k RPM 68Pin Fujitsu HD
1x 250GB 7200RPM Wester Digital HD
Aspire X-Navigator Case

ok, gotcha. I missunderstood you, i htouhgt you meant that the monior was your "computer" lol

jw/ howcome you have a really nice setup, but you're lacking in the cpu department lol, with all that money you saved i suggest picking up a nice dual core.

Hey there! I have the Apple 30inch monitor, and it is great! If you want to use your comp not just for gaming but also as a multimedia center (watch movies and stuff) than it is the way to go! But if you are only going to play games than it is a waist of money.

1. Hi, welcome to the forum

2. Look at the Opteron 170 dual core half the price same performance with a little overclock. You can hit 2.4 easy with an opteron.

3. I have two 19" LCD monitors and it is really nice. I like how you can play games with one and surf the web with the other. My monitors have a 16 ms response time and there is no ghosting at all.
