Apple laptops

this is what i want to get

Apple notebook

512MB DDR266 SDRAM (256MB built-in & 256MB SO-DIMM)
• 60GB Ultra ATA drive
• Combo drive (DVD-ROM/CD-RW)
• AirPort Extreme Card
• Bluetooth Module
• Keyboard & Mac OS X - U.S. English
• 12-inch TFT XGA display
• 1.2GHz PowerPC G4
• ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 w/ 32MB DDR video memory

It cost $1200. I compared dell to this. It would be like 50 or 100 dollars more for the dell, so i like the way apple looks plus i heard no viruses. what do you think? thanks bud

yeah seems good to me. apple mac's are generally good for everything bnut gaming, so music videos and internet would suit it well.
 
Looks good... Personally I'd still use some other laptop just because of the price and software availiblity... I mean my averatec cost me $900(should be getting some rebates for it, too) and it's about the same size with many of the same features...

As for viruses, I'm sure it has some. Most target windows as that's what everyone uses, but I'm sure there are some out there. Heck I've heard of some for PDA's!

yeah, you can get them for mobile phones too!

Why is it so bad for games, just wondering?

im not sure why they arent as good for games, lots of people have told me not to get an apple mac, because i mainly play games.
 
Well, when it comes to PC and Apple, most of todays popular software, most games and various software is made for the PC, windows OS, so you may not be able to get all the software you like, especialy in games. Apple however, as most people seem to say, is great for graphics and photo editing stuff. Theyve (apple) really come a long way from a couple years ago.
 
So thats the only cool thing about an apple computer?
(the graphics and photo editing) Do you think they'll come out with something better soon?
 
Thats not nececarily the only cool thing. It just depends on the type of person you are, personal prefrence, and what you like. I grew up using apple machines, but have now switched over to windows, i guess mainly because of the majority of software avaliable. Im just saying that apple is good with graphic editing, not that its the best or only thing it offers. The main thing is, they are two different platrofrms, and both run differently, however, there is a lot more software made for windows than there is for apple.
 
Sorry, I don't sit at this forum all the time ^^; MOST software(not all obviously) is ported from windows versions. Games are notorious for this... They will be on PC a good while before macs. Of course if you just plan to do basic web stuff, typing, and such, you should be fine...

And yes, I had heard they were on Cellphones too. Anything that can be programed could get a virus. The problem is weither or not someone actually makes one :P

Are you sure about that...I'm not sure how codecs are on macs... I mean basic ones(DVD and such) I'm sure, and I would assume DIVX... Well, the only mac I have anymore is my old SE FDHD so it's hard to really help much...sold off my old Power PC's ;P

Hehe, and it's ok for getting my species(cax) mixed up. I'll just send my pregnant demon fox after you! Haha, don't ask ;P
