Apple OS4 is on it's way...

...And it's going to put Apple back on top. iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch are about to kick ass more than ever! Apple has taken many requests from us all and made it better than even imaginable (by some :P)

(iPhone is going to be the most improved)

Just some general new features:
1. Multitasking- like no other, you can multitask MANY different apps at the same time on the iPhone WITHOUT loosing significant battery life or making it feel slow and sluggish. Also, you can double tap the home button to make a task bar come slide from the bottom of the screen showing you ALL the programs/apps your running that you can flip threw and pick which one you want to jump to.

2. Folders- Thats right, you can now make folders on your iPhone or iPod touch without having to jailbreak it to get it, And it's much better than the one you get from jailbreaking, much simpler and cleaner.

I'm going to stop at those two, but if you want to see for yourself how awesome the iPhone is about to be with the OS4, watch the video below. It's about an hour long, but the first 15-20 mins just talks about the iPad, so I skipped it lol.

Yeah. I'm pretty happy the way it works now, with the exception of the fact that I can't use it to transfer files or just hook it up to a different computer and get a few songs.

I don't care about their market share, but it was relevant to what the OP said about putting Apple on top.

Unless they make drastic changes to have similar 3rd party support that Window's does Apple is still going to be vastly inferior.
 
Oh cool, things I've been able to do on my last two phones and have been enjoying for 4 years now.

Edit: What? They can't call that multi-tasking! Well, they could but jeez, you can only do it with specific apps?? Holy neutering of the most anticipated feature.

Just looked through the change log...Lots of epicness..like digital zoom, the ebook app now making the ipad a little more useless, and..OMG..YOU CAN SET A BACKGROUND NOW!?!?!? Now I HAVE to get an iphone.

I get everything I need/want and then some with my iPhone now, but I suppose I'm not the most demanding user!

It works as a phone--does my email--has cool apps for what I use/do--and is fast enough for my liking..

I guess if OS4 is even better, I'll be even happier, I suppose!
 
I am so glad I dropped the iPhone in favor of Android. Apple is just copying what people used on their jailbroken phones, and claiming it as "revolutionary".

Regardless, I'm looking forward to os 4.0. However this is a required move by apple to keep pace with the newer phones that are multitasking (droid, nexus etc..)

Apple had deliberately disabled multitasking (unless the phone was jailbroken that is)

I like my iphone 16gb 3gs, but my old school blackberry 8310 was multitasking years ago
 
Androids awesome! I have the droid eris and it's really good. And seriously apple, you finally think that people want to do more than 1 thing at a time on an iphone?

I have the Moto Droid and love it.

I'm sick of Apple taking years to implement something like MMS, copy and paste, multitasking, and custom backgrounds. Sure they may have implemented it the best, but they had YEARS to improve upon technologies that everyone else figured out a while ago. Are you really glad that you had to wait 3 years for MMS and multitasking just so it was a bit better then their rivals? The iPhone is old...
