Apple?

Anyone have experience with Apple PCs? Interested in O/S, user interface, I/O capabilities and MTBF. How stable is the O/S compared to Vista? Available software? Wireless and Bluetooth capabilities? Thanks
 
Probably just a bit more stable and better overall. However, you have to remember that there are probably 10x or 100x as many applications for Windows as there are for Mac, so it is to be expected. Mac would probably be just as unstable if it were so widely used.

In terms of capability, it has almost all the software and hardware capabilities as windows. There are far fewer programs written for it though.
 
My post is the result of many years of MS O/O and its lack of reliability. So many times after loading a new program, etc some weird issue comes up. Hearing over the years of Apples reliability, I thought to look into the subject. Price is high.......don't know if it's worth it.
 
i wouldnt recomend it

the price for a mac is like 1500 for a system
when you could build the same windows pc for 600

i would just go with vista and everytime it screws up reinstall it
 
Apple computers are reliable but as said before just not as many programs. Apple's are great for video and imaging editing. I do believe that they have bluetooth but i'm not positive. The user interface is a little different but not to hard to get used to.
 
I find my Windows System really reliable and neer had any real complaints but i have got freinds who absolutley love their Mac computers but for me it would be Windows all the way
 
I like both windows and mac.
I'm on a mac right now like people said not as much software but, you can use programs that let you run windows programs on mac.
Or you can even us boot-camp to install windows and have windows and osx.
 
Tlarkin would give a professional opinion on it. If i had the money, i would definetely buy an apple along with a windows computer.
 
I had one once for 2 weeks. Wasnt impressed. I felt like a fish out of water. I am a die hard Chevy person...everytime I have driven a Ford...it did feel right. That the way a Mac feels to me

I don't think that is true.

And if it were, why does that matter? Would you rather have a million crappy programs or a hundred good ones? (not that windows doesn't have good programs)

How does that follow? Mac is UNIX based, which is a whole lot more stable than Windows

What are your specific questions?

I had to look up MTBF, but to put it simply I have a 5 year old G5 running both 10.5.5 and 10.5.5 server. They last a lot longer than PCs and have greater quality control.

Just post your specific questions and I can try to answer them rather than write a broad response to all the possibilities of what you are really asking.
 
The Mac O/S is quick and stable, there are also only around 40 viruses for mac where there are about 40,000 (i think) for Windows so they are less likely to get infected.

However hardware wise most Mac desktops (except for the towers) are basicly laptops inside with bigger screens.

If you want a reliable, stable PC, I say, go for Linux.
