What do you guys think of the apple computers? I went today and looked at them and liked em. You guys have any past exp you care to share. Also what are your likes and dislikes with the mac os?

The computers themselves are very high quality, but more work-station computers. If you don't care for much of a gaming machine, they are the way to go. Though also be prepared to invest in a copy of Windows. MacOS is an OK operating system, but programs coded for both windows and MacOS tend to go faster on Windows. Plus basically every program ever made is originally designed for windows ;)

I have my first mac, and I know that they arn't real gaming machines, but on the other hand, I have a macbook pro, where i run windows, and can play any game (as of right now) with it. Yes its expensive, but you get great support, and both operating systems, and gaming :)

i use mac and pc all the time i have to say that i favourmac all in all! its more reliable and doesnt let you donw!

I AM NOT A GAMER just incase people go what he like macs! i do video editing etc on them so thats why i like em!

to eash his own! nice and easy thats how i like computers to work :)

Where is your proof of this? Considering Macs run windows natively, there is physically no difference between them and a PC laptop.

In my experience my mac runs windows better than most other PCs. If you have to game, you can install windows on a partition via boot camp and boot into it to game.

OS X is way quicker in general use over windows as well. When I launch a simple app like a web browser it instantly loads, the OpenGL desktop, Aqua, is very smooth with no lag what so ever. OS X came out in like 2001 so its now been out for 7 years and is a very solid OS.

Plus, Apple designs the best laptops on the planet. My macbook pro is only 1" thick, weighs next to nothing and have a 15" wide screen LCD. PC laptops are just too big and chunky, I will never go back to using a PC laptop if I can ever help it.

The thing is the price, if a Macbook was say 700-900 I would consider it a decent deal. That being said I am a gamer.

Again, Apple does not make any cheap computers. What you want is like saying that you want to go to a Porcshe dealer and pay ford focus prices for a Porcshe.

All their computers either have Core 2 Duos or Xeon processors, and are made with high quality, and quality control parts. Before I got my macbook pro I had a G4 ibook. Which I ran every day for 3 years before I sold it, and it never once crashed or broke on me.

Also, gaming on a laptop is not for me. I think laptops are not meant for gaming and that you should just game on a desktop, but that is just me.

Apple computers are solid.

Like others have said, tho, they only make top of the line computers.

For instance, a few months ago, i bought a $500 13" laptop strictly for taking notes (a 1.6ghz amd 64) and apple makes nothing for someone like me.

Apple doesn't seem to understand that people's computer needs are not black and white.

Just because i need a computer doesn't mean i need THE computer. Apple's product line offers nothing in the way of comprimise. You can't get a 1/2 decent computer, only the BEST.

If you want the BEST, tho, look no further.

.... And take note that my opinion on apple hardware in no way reflects my feelings about the mac o/s, which i wont even get into.

They aren't really the best macbooks boast GMA 950 mcbook pros had/have? mobility radeon x1600's for anyone looking to game or do anything to graphics intensive this simply wont do. Also all but 2 models are white, with black costing more and silver being alot more. Not everyone submits to this silly fashion statement. And beyond that the whole thing runs you 500+ more than a strait up windows PC.

Thats funny I run maya 8.5 on my macbook pro and it runs fine. Please do not state misinformation about these things because you are making statements which are wrong.

Anyone looking to game on a laptop is defeating the purpose of a laptop, they are designed to be mobile working machines. Obviously a desktop will out perform a laptop in most benchmarks and stress tests, but not in mobility.

I personally game on a laptop that I spent 1450$ on, and have played Cs:S on a "loaded" macbook pro. The game crawled, It was the original core duo admitedly, but so is my laptop. Aside from that I was comparing laptops to laptops.
